'ART ON THE LAWN'
Well this show went pretty well. We really enjoyed it - had a few sales and some contacts. This was a well established show - over 20 years so it drew a big crowd. Unlike the first show, there was no rain! Yeah! This being the 2nd show - we were also more relaxed. I know that I need to focus on some smaller items but hopefully I will be combining the art with some quality crafts.
Keep watching my blog and please make comments - it really makes you feel good when people comment.
Thanks
Happy Day!

SHOW!
Had all 4 grandsons this past weekend - we had a great time - went to a museum for a Dragon Exhibit on Friday night, swimming, Butterfly Festival and Dayton Dragons Game all on Saturday! In between time there were kickball games, playing chess, drawing and playing a computer game - that's what happens when you have three 9 year olds and one 5 year old - must keep everyone busy - but I think all had a great time!
Must get back to work!

AS TIME GOES BY!
This is a watercolor painting done on 300# arches watercolor paper. The actual painting is 13 x 17 and the overall measurement is 25 X 21. It has a double matt, burgundy over ivory with a walnut frame with dust cover on the back.As you can see it is a mandolin with a bottle of wine and the sheet music of 'As Time Goes by' from Casablanca. It also has a book and a bowl. If you would like, I could also change the name of the song and put a different initial on the wine bottle. This is a great picture for over the bar.Sunday, July 26, 2009
Here is my Birdhouse with a cat Pen & Ink painting. It is 11.5 x 13.5 with the overall size 14.5 x 17. It has a painted frame in charcoal with white splatter paint and a wooden feather as an added embellishment. The weather here was absolutely wonderful here today - we had a birthday party for the Brother-in-law which has been a tradition for over 40 years. Turned out very nice!
Both Gracie and Heidi was groomed Friday for the party - so they were their absolute best! Heidi, the Great Pry, is so white you need sunglasses to look at her now.
Have a great week!!!!!

Well, Katie is back by popular demand. I was asked to do this doll for a friend who's mother bought this same doll about 27 years ago at a craft show. Katie has always been a hit! She is 18" tall and is soft sculptured. She has flower eyes, hand stitched nose and mouth, sculptured fingers, ears and dimples in the knees. She has a pink with butterflies dress with matching panties and an eyelet pinafore. Her socks are real baby socks with felt shoes. I have hand stitched each strand of her hair on and added ribbons to her ponytails. She is always a joy to make - she just comes to life right in front of me!!!!!
If you are interested, she is $40.00 plus shipping. She can be made in different colors to suit you.
It has been a great weekend, went to a hosta walk on Saturday and spent the rest of the day in Columbus. I had never been to a Hosta walk - they had over 600 hostas at this farm north of Columbus, Ohio - could have spent a fortune - but only bought a half of dozen. Beautiful speciums!
Thanks for looking!!!!!

As you can see I am expanding my blog - I am now going to be posting many things that I make. For instance, let me introduce you to Lizzie & Lenny - they are looking to be adopted by a loving, cozy family. They are 18" soft cloth dolls that are now on my Etsy page - go to www.wilbee26@etsy.com to see their profile.I haven't been on here much lately because after doing the Memorial Day Parade, that I described in a previous post, I immediately starting on the Cancer Relay for Life that was held from 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 p.m. the next day - June 5th & 6th. I was the Captain for our Exchange Club so I had to make sure every thing was organized. It was really a lot of fun, and very, very heart warming. I had a luminary dedicated to both of my parents who passed away from Cancer and I walked in the survivor walk as I am a twice survivor of melanoma! Thank God for great Doctors! I truly believe that they have saved my life. If you have never participated in one of these it is well worth doing - it makes you feel so good that people care!!!!! We are going to beat this Cancer thing!!!!!!!
Oh, by the way, I donated a print of my Kohl dog painting that is posted here on the blog. They promoted it by saying that it was done by a cancer survivor! The gentleman that won it was tickled!
So - now I hope to be better at updating my blog. I will probably be posting in another couple of days!!!!!
Happy Painting everyone!!!!

I'm working on a watercolor single Rose that should be done this week. For my upcoming show in July I need to focus on some smaller (8x10) pictures so that is my goal. I want to do this same rose in different colors. At the parade I had my camera with me, of course, you hardly ever find me with out one, and got some great shots of some horses (my favorite animal - next is dogs) so I'm hoping to attempt them. They were beautiful - a 4-H club - they had stenciled Stars on them and red/white & blue sparkley streamers one the tails. You never know when you are going to see something that might make a great painting!
I guess it looks like I'm getting the hang of this after all.
Have a great day everyone!!!!!!!

GENERAL AUGUSTUS SEWELL
Here is my latest color pencil painting. It is 10x13 on mitense paper. I think that I need to readjust it. It was fun to do - I like using OMS on the color pencil technique - it looks like I actually painted it. The wax just melts together. I will post the update when I figure out how to correct them.Happy Painting everyone!!!!!

KOHL'S PRIDE
I just finished this - it is a 10 x 12 color pencil painting. This dog is a theraphy dog belonging to a co-member of the Exchange Club here in Springfield. Actually, it is his daughter's dog - Kohl. They dress him up for different occasions. She made a note card from her snapshot and he brought it to show me since I love dogs. I loved it and asked permission for me to paint it. I decided to do the color pencil on bristol smooth with prismacolors. I also used Odor Mineral Spirits which turns it into a wonderful painting look picture. I have also made prints of this which will both be available on my website which will be up shortly.Happy April 1st!!!!!
