Here is my 'Star of Wonder' that I painted acrylic on canvas board. What fun it was to do! All of the stippling for the fun was fun. If you are interested in bears, please keep an eye on my blog because I am working on a couple of others.

Well, here we are - my first art show! This is in downtown Springfield - a brand new gallery - Xcetra Art Gallery. It went very well, regardless of how nervous I was. We had a good turn out for the grand opening. The gallery isn't really done yet - but the possibilities are pretty good. It was a very nice assortment of art including digital, rock sculpting, jewelry, stained glass, fabric and candles that looked and smelled good enough to eat. They were in the shape of a stack of pancakes, tarts, cup of black coffee with a stack of oatmeal cookies - all as candles! Also, there was the watercolor, oil, pastels, color pencils - I know I missed something but, like I said, it was a good opening and I know it will grow!
We had a great time, met quiet a few of other local artist and people who are sincerely interested in art. My pictures will be there for 30 days and then there will be another show. The pictures on the wall are my originals and the ones on the floor are prints.
Now I must get ready for my next show - we are lauching my website this week - please keep looking for that update.
Thanks everyone for looking at my blog!!!!

LITTLE BOY WITH MOTHER DUCK
This is a color pencil painting that I have finished. It was a real challenge at first, in fact I gave it away to a friend who was going to finish it. Needless to say she gave it back to me many months later and I made myself finish it and when I did I was so proud of it. This picture does not do it justice - it is really beautiful - most people cannot believe that it is done in color pencils.
It is done on tan mitense paper (which is my favorite) and the finished product will fit in a 16 x 20 frame. I used all prismacolor pencils and a touch of soft pastel for the fog in the background of the pond.

Len's Hibiscus
This is a watercolor that I finished a couple of weeks ago. It is about 14 x 17 on 300# arches watercolor paper. I will be showing it at a brand new local art gallery the end of this month. I will have the original matted and framed and then have prints to purchase also and maybe some greeting cards.
I did this as a dedication to my father who passed away in January. It is a photo that I took of one of his hibiscus's in Florida. It is all watercolor except the white veins and I used waterdown acrylic paint for those with a red wash over the top.

COLOR PENCIL SANTA PAINTING!
This is a color pencil painting that I did as a wedding/college graduation gift for my niece. It is approximately 14 x 17 on beige mitiense paper with all prismacolor pencils. These are fun to do - and really don't take much time. I really like to give Christmas items for wedding gifts so that they have something to put out at Christmas time and, hopefully, it will be considered a heirloom.
I had it framed in gold with a green suede mat with a gold undermat and gold beading around the painting.
