Here is the latest thing that I just was doodling in my sketchbook. We have several of these in our yard every day. This is done in color pencil with gamsol.
Well here is an update on the baby smash book. The first one is the 3rd page which I fussy cut a the 'bundle of joy' tag and glued it at the top of the page and then cut the heart with the background out on the cricut. The next page has a slash pocket and 3 tags inserted in it. One of the tags has a poem on it and the rest are for photos or journaling.
I have given my niece this book which ended up having 22 pages plus the cover and back.
Thank you for looking and hope you enjoy. Will add more shortly.
Here is what I have been doing lately. This is Screechy! A little screech owl that I took the original picture at a local nature preserve. He is so adorable. This is done on mi-teinse paper with prismacolor pencils. It is approximately 8 x 10. Please leave comments to let me know what you think of my project. Hope to get back into selling my work.
Here is what I'm working on presently. I have started a baby smash book for my niece who is due soon. So I guess that I best get busy! It is 8 x 8 and I don't know how many pages I will put in it - just winging it because I have a stack of many cute baby things that I want in this book.
As you can see the top has the large 'H' which is chipboard and I glued pattern paper on it then applied micro beads and added a bow and a foam flower. The rest of Hayden is just some foam letters that I had and thought they worked fine. I fussy cut and layered the 'Baby Girl' and 'Welcome to the World' banners. The butterfly is embossed and distressed inked then glued down just the middle so that I could bend the wings some. I also added some metal corners.
The inside cover is just basille paper (pink) and the pocket is some shiny paper that I just cut to fit. The corners and the label are stickers that I have had a long time waiting for the right project. I will be cutting tags for the pocket.
I will keep posting pages as I get them done. Please enjoy! If you have any questions or ideas to share - please don't hesitate to contact me.
Here I am again. I have done a lot since I last posted. I will be posting several things over the next few postings.
This is my color pencil painting of my Rose. I grew this rose and took its' picture then painted it. It is approximately 9 x 12 on meintes paper. I did it with prismacolor pencils and gamsol.
I did a show in Urbana 2 weeks ago and did pretty well - the weather was very, very hot but people came anyway. It sure makes you feel good when it goes well doesn't it?
Please look at Betsy - I have drawn her and did some pen & ink and put a watercolor wash over it. It is definitely not done but getting there. This picture is about 9 x 9 on watercolor arches. I'm not pleased with her right ear but will do some fluffing to it. Once that I did the eyes, she really came to life and looks just like my Betsy.
I found out about a month ago that one of my best friends has breast cancer. For quite some time I have wanted to start a Prayer Shawl Ministry at our church - so now is the time. I knitted this, had it blessed by our Priest and prayed over by 5 of us girls at church who will start this ministry and presented it to my friend to use in her hours of need. Hope this gives her many hours of knowing how much she is loved and cared for.
There is such a need for this ministry - I have done some research on line and the wonderful stories of how this helps is amazing. A local group of women whom get together to knit among themselves, provided one for one of their friends' husband who was very ill - after he passed away, his wife used it and still does - she says that it is a comfort to her now - feels like he has his arms around her.
This can be done for anyone - housebound, sick, military, new babies, etc -
